Friday Fictioneers

Do you recognise this? Years ago my child, there were these things called rivers. They carried water from place to place. Some of these rivers were so big and powerful that they carved great chasms in the land. With lots of water, Earth, our ancient home, and where they were located, was called the Blue Planet. Our ancestors didn’t treasure them. Over time the rivers started to disappear. People started to fight for water. You can not blame them though because they didn’t know that one day we would be floating around space in a metal home seeking out that elusive treasure

  1. A well written cautionary tale with an unusual and effective choice of style. The voice could be that of a parent, a community/religious leader, a deity? Certainly a mysterious voice 🙂 Good stuff.

  2. You so take us outter worldly with this and am surprised to find the twist…lovely: ‘Years ago my child, there were these things called rivers. They carried water from place to place’ i never thought the water is on the list for environmental protection and preservation! A timely warning this is!
